Default My car acts up @ the gas station?

Every time i fill up my tank my car delays to crank over, or it will start and shutoff quick. Otherwise it never shuts off or anything just when I put gas in it.,even if it has half a tank, filled or not, any gas station it always does it.Its a 99 ek with itr swap.

Sounds to me like a fuel pressure issue. After you fill up make sure the gas cap is turned a few clicks. And before you start the car, turn the key into the "on" position (when all your warning lights on the cluster turn on). Once your seatbelt light goes off, or about 7 seconds later then try to start the car.

After having done all the it SHOULD start up right away.

ur joking right? i sure hope so.

it does sound like a pressure issue. but it could also be something else. like maybe theres sediment at the bottom of the tank and when u get gas it pushes the sediment around and is getting sucked into your pump screen when u start the car at the gas station.

could also be your fuel filter. your fuel filter could be clogged and need a new one. also could be due to sediment in the tank.

just a quick suggestion check your gas cap for holes, or chips it might be the problem, if you have a buddy with the same car use his gas cap when you fill up and see if its the problem,

If it cranks but doesn't start, check your main relay.

pumping the gas does nothing on an efi vehicle when it is not running. also fuel pumps do tend to burn out right when you fill the tank so if the fuel filter or cap are not the problem dont be suprised if your pump dies on you completly.

Try turning your car to 2nd accessory and letting the pump prime.

I've left my gas cap at the gas station and driven for about 2-3 days without it. Never made a difference when i went to start the car.

Had the same problem and it turned out to be dry joints on the main relay.

Can you hear the pump prime when in 2nd key switch?
