Default Suspension Noise

Whenever I hit a big bump on the road, there is a loud banging noise that comes from the front driver side suspension area only. Sounds like something got hit with a hammer. Anyone have similar experiences or problems?

So have you actually looked around underneath the car to see if anything is amiss? Bushings? Ball joints? Sway bar endlinks? All bolts tight?

Everything is where it's suppose to be. All bolts tight. Can't figure it out. I don't think the shock is blown either.

UCA is hitting shock tower, raise the car alittle.

thats what it sounds like to me to, how low is your car? and check the top of your strut towers in the bay to see if they have been getting hit?!

It's funny because I recently raised the spring perches on my koni yellows so the car sits a little higher now. I never had this problem when it was lower. I didn't see any signs near the strut towers but I will check again.

as you raised your springs, the spring will be compressed a bit more. most likely the coils are hitting each other under impact.

have you tried coil wrap? or even heat shrink

Not unless the car was resting on the bump stops previously.

What length and rate of springs are you using up front?

I don't see signs of the UCA hitting the shock tower. I don't think it's the coils hitting each other either, because this is a really loud thud sound like a hammer hitting metal.

I'm running H&R race springs with koni yellows. I think the rate is 460lb up front.
