Default Been thinking about this for awhile (automatic lights)

Alot of new/luxury cars have this feature .. The lights that turn on automatically when it gets dark out .. Would it be possible to do on a 97 Civic ?

I know there really isn't any purpose to this but I'm wondering if its possible and/or if its been done before on a Civic ..

anything is possible with the right amount of money. but if you have the money to do this on a 97 civic, then why aren't you driving a luxury car?

you know it'll be alot cheaper if you just use you left hand.

I don't have particulars, but this can be achieved quite easily, and on the cheap.

If you're so inclined, check out the audio/security forum or even http://www.the12volt.com/. You can get what you're looking for using basic $3 automotive relays and some time.

Uhh...it's not a lot of money.

Ambient light sensors are cheap. Just throw one inline in the circuit to either one of the wires going to the headlights and make sure it's outside the car (just tap into one of the wires and place the sensor some place else) and it's a done deal. Not expensive, just not something I'd spend time on though.

If you really had some time you wire it in parallel with a switch so you can bp-pass the "auto-turn-on" feature.
