Default Koni: Moving Clip up while installed on Car

My car has been riding Koni's at the lower clip setting w/ OEM springs for about two years, and I'm tired of slowing down for some bumps. So I'm planning on raising the car back to OEM height. Is there any reason I shouldn't be able to jack the car up, compress the spring, and then slide the clip up to the higher setting?

Any thoughts are welcomed.
Thanks,
Matt

Well only a few places, like my drive way, can cause problems. Also I got new tires(Bridgstone Potenza) that were supposed to be the OEM size but ended up being alittle smaller. The Biggest problem is that the OEM springs aren't very stiff. So while I'm only lowered about one inch, it ends up being more of a problem then if I had some progressive springs lowered 1.5" Also I drive my car much harder then most people do. The research project I'm working on is sorta hairy. I'm also geting my exhaust done, and I would rather protect that then drive around in style. I'll take some more before and after pics, but I'm sure I won't like how it looks after I'm done.

I've done this before.

Compress spring using spring compressors and raise up clip then reseat spring and decompress...

I raised my rears cuz it was scrubbing the guards.

I haven't tried the rears yet, but the front's don't have enough room to actually compress the spring w/ the compressors that I have. Its not much longer to just take them out with all the work I put into it.

On another note, I was able to remove the struts by loosening the two pivots on the upper a-arm instead of poping that ball joint. I think this was easier for me.

No pics I just did the front before I remembered to take shots. Ohh well I doubt anyone is interested in seeing a car that has been raised 20mm

It takes only a few min to remove a shock/spring assembly. That's a lot easier than fumbling around with a spring compressor in the wheel well.

**** on me I pulled the inner CV joint apart. Is this a bust, or can it go back together?

I didn't get the rear done since I had to mess w/ repacking the CV boot. The rear will probably get done eventually, but the front is what was really bothering me.

I took some pics with just the front raised, and then I put the jack under the rear subframe to simulate what OEM height would look like.
