Default Help - what is this component? its leaking..

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what this component is inside my 1990 5 speed Prelude? Its leaking a clear oil like fluid (although its definitely not the Motor oil). what does it take to fix this fluid leak?

thanks for any advice!

(oh you'll notice a vacuum port capped off - I had my coolant hoses replaced and the mechanic forgot what it was connected to so he just capped it - since then the leaking problems began.)

I think thats your transimmisson. I forget what it called though. Check your transsmission fluid levels.

exactly what part of my transmission is this? Now that its started to leak, will it have to be replaced?

It looks like you're talking about the cover that sits on top of the tranny to cover up some arms and connections inside. Mine is slowly leaking too

clean it off with break cleanner really nice... then watch for the leak again.. it's prolly some stupid gasket that you can replace.
