look wise I'll go for the Alpine unit.

I personally have the Pioneer unit you have listed and no complaints yet...

i'd go w/ the Alpine.. I've had really good experiences w/ all my alpine decks... I usually upgraded/replaced them before anything went wrong w/ them (for more features.. went from tape to cd head unit.. )... and they sound really good.. Pioneer is good also..

7995. I like the fact it's a straight tuner with an outboard DC/DC converter. The time delay and built in crossover is neat too. It has a nice display and ergonomics too.

What do you mean by "cd insert thing"? You mean saving titles for CD's or just a CD slot behind the face?

Kenwood. Never even considered them so I can't comment on those. But, I wouldn't consider it if I was you though. hehe *biased opinion here*

The Pioneer 7400MP has great features and is a well known amp. Only draw back that personally bothers me is the long delay between mp3 tracks. 4+ seconds delays will get annoying when you're searching through multiple folders and files.
I have the 8400MP and the delay bothers me. But other than that, it's freaking awesome!

The Alpine-7995. My original choice and still is. But ended up getting the pioneer because I was impatient. This deck also has great features. Almost no delay between mp3 tracks. It's a little expensive though.

Bottom line: Alpine 7995.
