Still confused about B18B1 swap
I've read all the FAQs about the swap. I can't find out, or missed one issue I have. Do I have to use the B18B1 trans, or will the engine bolt to my stock 88 CRX DX trans?
I was getting ready to just find a Z6 engine, harness, ECU, but I can get this B18B1, with anything I want to take off car for 150.00. I know that having access to the whole car will make it a lot easier. The motor is in a 92 hatchback now.
I don't want a drag car, just a better running street car than the DPFI, that gets decent mileage.
Thanks,
Ron

I'm going to have to go back and see donor car again. I didn't notice what trans was in it. I just assumed the 92 trans was still there.
What's the easiest way to tell what trans they used?
I ran the serial numbers on the car, and it came back as a 1500 cc engine originally, but that's all I remember.
Is there a place online that I can check the number again. My buddy at the junk yard ran it for me on his in house system.
I'll learn this pretty quick. I built Chevy hotrods most of my life, except for a 18 year run with VW and Porsche cars in 70's and 80's.
I'm 60 now, but I'm having a ball with this little CRX. It reminds me of the VW cars I built big engines for.
Thanks,
Ron
