I read somewhere it has showa suspension. Is that the mugen showa suspension kit?

 

The Japan TypeS has the same springs and dampers as the US TypeSH has.

Showa is the company that also supplies the factory OEM Prelude suspension. The Mugen Sport Suspension kit for the prelude (made by Showa) is a little stiffer than stock and lowers the car 1". It is a mild sport suspension for the street. It is non-adjustable. At a price of $1300, it is very pricy for what you get IMHO. The one nice part is that it is a complete coilover assembly, including the upper mount. It is easy to install because it is a direct replacement for the stock coilover assembly. You don't need to disassemble the stock assemblies to reuse the top mount.

IMO, you will get a more capable and versitile suspension combo for a lot less money if you go with Koni Sport dampers + some good sport springs or Ground Control coilover threaded sleeves...
