Default heres a alternate to the S2000 antenna...

i just did this today. its a roof mount antenna, but it fits perfectly in the place of the power antenna. i bought it on ebay from some online site called LO CUSTOMS (www.locustom.com). the antenna is called "shark attack II" (i am no way afiliated with LO CUSTOMS, but thought id mention where i bought it so i can help other HT users out) Mike, the owner was great help, and if u guys want an easy alternate from the s2000 antenna and all the trouble of getting the mounting hardware for it, i highly recommned this. its as simple as plug and go. the reception on this is the same as the stock antenna from what i noticed, but i live in the SF bay area, so its a large metropolitian area..

also, if u feed this needs to be moved to the appearance forum, go for it, but i feel this is toward integra users only..

one more thing i forgot to mention, the antenna comes with a 2 wire installation, but i only used the antenna wire.. i think the 2nd wire was the power wire for the built in amp..

Lsweet..is there any way of making that antennae go up-right...kinda prefer the up-right look instead of the slant.

truthfully, i duno if i'm diggin the whole antenna thing.... nice car btw, like the sides, rims, no wing, no wiper, 98 tails, and the custom 3rd brake light. I've heard those antennas give shitty reception. The cleanest small antenna i've seen on a teg has been mounted where the rear water squarter is on the roof. The teg kinda looked like a sick rc car from far away!

I like the fact that you don't have to use the stock antenna mount. Nice alternative.

Thanks for the site too...I want to try out the amplifier they have for sale and see if that boosts the reception for the S2K antenna.

Does anybody know if a company makes a rear washer squirter/antenna combo. I think that would look nice.

niiiiice
very clean. glad to see how considerate you were about your 3rd brake light... a lot of people "forget" to fix that when removing the spoiler.

So did you have to drill or make any mods to make this antenna fit? Also how is it held in place?

this could be the answer to your s2k problem.. cuz the antenna has a built in amp, and it doesnt have a bad signal even without the amp. (my power wire isnt hooked up)

no drilling. its as simple as removing the old antenna, and putting the new one in its place, then tightening a nut, and plugging in the antenna wire.. thats all. takes more time removing the rear panels..
