if i buy a inter cooler piping kit with bov and use that instead of a cold air intake, because I dont have a turbo, will that mess up my car? im new so dont rip me a new one to bad!
Stop. Read up on turbos.
You cannot use an intercooler on a naturally aspirated engine. An intercooler is used on forced inducted setups because the air heats up when it is compressed.
Without the intecooler, intake temps would get too hot causing detonation in high(er) boost applications.
It would be completely useless on a car without a turbo.

well you COULD do it if you connect the wastegate to your heater core, this way the intake air helps heat the car, and it cools the intake charge. this also makes the heater rob less power from the motor.
this is a great trick for NA cars (non-turbo) in the winter who still want to get their summer power.
