What i really wanted to know is that having 220,000 miles, will the pinion and steering rack be worn out? those two items alone would cost 150.
number 7 and 9.

 

Probably not worn out, but might have some play in it. I'd first install new bushings and tie rods, if they're needed. Also, if you follow your steering coloumn to the firewall inside the car, theres a rubber boot you can pull aside to access where you coloumn attaches to your steering gear. Theres a 10mm bolt that can loosen up over time in there, a couple of quick turns and it can really tighten things up. Try the little things first, before spending the bucks! If the rack is out, you should be able to inspect it, and buy the parts as needed.
