Default oil filter question

How good are the oem A01 oil filters that Honda used to sell? I changed my oil at 5500 miles and put in Mobil 1 EP 5w20 and replaced the original filter with an A01 I had laying around. Now my car is at ~8900 miles and the oil % at 60. I am wondering how long are these oil filters good for? I used to always change the oil in my 99 turbo civic every 3k miles so I am not accustomed to the longer intervals. I'm guessing that I'd be over 10k miles by the time the oil % goes down to 15. I have one more A01 filter left. I'm wondering if I should pull the oil filter at 50% and replace it with a new one? Or should I just wait it out til my next oil change which? On my next change I will probably go with a Napa Wix filter or Mobil 1.

Honda must think a lot about their filters, cause actually if you follow the maintenance minder correctly you may change your filter even less.

You have main codes that come up when it is time to get serviced (A & B).
(A) = change just oil
(B) = change oil and filter

You could get for example: 15% A1

However most dealers will always change both.

Napa Gold (Wix) has paper media... But not a bad filter, but has a weak bypass valve...
Mobil1 extended performance (filter) is synthetic blend, a really good filter... Good bypass valve...
Purolator PureOne is fully synthetic, another really good filter... Great bypass valve...

You really cant go wrong with any of them...

The mobil 1 ep 5w20 is doing well. I figured if I was going to change out my oil with the longer intervalsw now, I might as well invest in some syn. I don't know how it compares to other oils I've used since I'm not a guru.

I always change my oil filter when I change my oil. I don't see a reason not to.

I will probably just leave the oem filter in there and use a mobil 1 the next time around.

Mobil1 is an excellent oil for our civics... If you are going to take off you CAT I would say run Redline... Redline has a higher phosphorus/zinc content which is GREAT for reducing engine wear, but will do damage to CAT converters... Redline also has a much higher heat tolerance (both flash and fire points, it also burns off less)...
