Well your NOx is reading high which usually means that cylinder temperatures are too high, which would normally mean it's running lean. But your hc's are too high also which would mean rich or misfire. With a combination of both of those being high at the same time I would pretty much assume that all it means is that the cat isn't doing its job anymore.

cliffs: get a new cat

Get a new cat. If its stock then maybe its time for a new one. Mines is an 89 d15b and it failed the first time like that. replaced the cat and took it in for smog same station and it passed. No problems

Just retard your timing and run that emissions stuff in the gas tank and make sure your car is nice and warmed up, then go though, you'll pass. GL

If you buy any of those universal cats they are going to have to be welded in instead of bolting up.

Get new bolts from honda too because I'm sure yours aren't going to want to come out. Don't forget gaskets too

try running higher octane gas and move around your timing its can't be that hard to pass on that motor...my friend passed on his fully built b16 with my obd1 dohc ZC ecu and he has no cats lol probably ran super lean but hey it got the job done and yes in NJ!

HEET gasline antifreeze in the yellow bottle at your local parts store 1.29 a bottle. one bottle will drop your readings in half, two bottles and your car is cleaning the air as it runs. I passed the sniff test with a DOHC ZC with a gutted cat with one bottle.

Just trying to help out, if you don't believe it thats fine but atleast let the guy try it for himself, I don't know how many times I've passed things that shouldn't have just with this...

first without heet, second with heet. This car was a piece of ****, results you see are from two bottles heet in a half tank of premium running with a trouble code for o2 sensor.

HC limit reading CO%limit reading
idle 750 801 1.00 6.39
2500 rpm 750 345 1.00 4.61

HC limit reading CO%limit reading
idle 750 370 1.00 0.96
2500 rpm 750 77 1.00 0.22

Its $1.29 a bottle how can you go wrong?
