^^ There's more to performance than just the engine.

But it still is true, there really is no difference (that I'm aware of).

If you want to get super technical, the tire pressure monitoring system might add some weight

If you plan on getting aftermarket rims as part of your performance needs, then maybe it's less hassle to get an 07. See the tire pressure monitor thread for more details.

yah the tire pressur monitor sensors if like the scions are on the valve stems and can be easily put onto aftermarket rims

i know for a fact that the suspension is diffrent (spring rates) there is a thread on 8thgen but i cant find it

not all rims some are not desingnd to fit a TPMS propperly and you could have problems with them leaking and with mounting and dismounting the tire

performance wise? well let's just say i hope they improved the common issues of two 07 si's i've had (one essentially lemoned after nothing but problems)- popping suspension and vague third gear shifting (though helped with shifting fortification parts like comptech SS).
