Default What could cause a "slow chug-chuging" on start up??

94lx, 184K, MT, stock in and out.

Engine is in a good state of tune except for a slighty leaking FITV, and random acting up ICV.

When I go to start the engine, after the starter stops cranking, it will almost act like its boging down and then it will spring to life after a split second of seemingly rough running...

I cleaned the EGR ports 3K ago and have been getting excellent highway mileage (30-36mpg+-)
checked the plugs, and they are kind of white with a little deposit.
oh, and no codes thrown...

New fuel filter and air filter when I cleaned the EGR ports 3k ago, as well as a valve adjustment. Cap/rotor/wires/plugs are all fairly new from maybe 10k ago.

thing is it didnt do this until this week, in fact it had been running better than ever aside from the troublesom idle valves. (which is fine now except for a slight leak in the FICV)

could cold weather be the culprit?

You said you thought it could be a clogged fuel filter, perhaps my fuel pump isnt delivering enough fuel at first?

thanks for the help!
