Default Just need some cheap tires

I have a 98 GSR that has some bald 205-40-17's on it right now. With winter coming up I need some new tires quick. I do not plan on keeping the car a whole longer so I don't want to spend that much money on tires. What is the best tire for the least money?

There's no such thing as the "best tire for the least money". You can't have both.

Here are some inexpensive all-season tires in 205/40-17:

Nankang NS-1 Radial $53 at Discount Tire Direct with free shipping

Kumho AST $53+shipping at Tire Rack, $62 at Discount Tire Direct with free shipping

Falken Ziex ZE-912 $67 at Discount Tire Direct with free shipping

Kumho ASX $66+shipping at Tire Rack, $74 at Discount Tire Direct with free shipping

IMHO the Kumho ASX is a lot better in every way than the others listed here. You'll have to decide whether the better performance is worth paying more for.

What about the cheapo's on ebay? I saw some falcon's that where like just under $300 shipped for all 4.

Read the ones from Discount Tire Direct. They have free shipping. Even the quality Kumho ASX would be cheaper shipped to your door than some cheap tires on eBay. HINT: $292 shipped.

EVEN BIGGER HINT: If you're really good at math then it would be $296

I can get 4 - 205/40ZR17 Kumho Ecsta ASX from Tirerack for $305 shipped. I think I might go that route. They have good snow traction which I will need this winter too. They got the best reviews of the bunch.

If you need all-season tires (and obviously, you do), the ASX is really an excellent tire and a great value for the money.
