granted it would be a pain in the ***.. but i just moved to central CA from mass.. and i got my 02 silver w/ 36k on the clock for 17,9 w/o looking too hard just south of my home in boston. that was in convertible season. wait a month or two and find one in a place that snows and drive it home! most people who own them will sell them at the end of the driving season..(or the beginning to make more money).. if you are willing to drive it home it would totally be worth it. i shipped mine across country for under .30 cents a mile. just something to consider!

well dude what happened was once i picked cal poly as my college in CA i decided to sell my lude(that wouldn't pass smog) and get something cool that wouldn't have worked in snow(rwd).
I picked up an s2k at home in boston, even though I knew it was gonna cost like almost 1000 to ship to CA because I knew they were way cheaper in mass. I bought the car for 16,9 and then shipped it for 950. It was 3,200 miles so it was def. worth it. If you bought one in somewhere lonely in the midwest where it snows you could def. drive it back! a much better option.
In my opinion people in snowy areas value this car more. It almost always is a second car that is pampered and well maintained, bought by people who can afford a weekend car. Its way more impratical and has a "toy" car status. People pretty much buy them because they LOVE them.
shipping cars is sketchy and takes time to figure out, btw. PM me if you want to know why you shouldnt ship.
