Brand new rims. Do you wax the complete rim (back + front face and mounting area) before mounting tires? Or do you just wax the back and front face of the rim?

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

 

i only wax my rims when it is needed.. like to re polish some lips and/or to remove some road grime.


to be honest though, i wouldn't wax the back of a rim because the brake dust and road dirt, etc is gonna get to it anyway... would be a wasted effort.. i say if you are really **** about it then maybe clean the back of the rims every tire rotation w/ a light pressure wash or something similar

I thought that waxing the back of the rim would make it easier to clean the brake dust and any other things that would dirty it.

 

if you waxed it with a very good sealant wax for that type of thing then possibly but other wise i feel it might be a waste... i have also noticed that the majority of gunk inside the wheel attributes from bad axles and blown axle boots lol
