Default b16a1 and octane questions

in japan, don't they use like 89 octane? isn't that like their highest? and if so, then the b16a1 would be based off of using 89 octane. so wouldn't it be smarter to use 89 octane for better gas milage and HP? what should i be using?

also is my 90 cr-x si a ef8?

if i'm not mistaken, they have octane ratings higher than 91-92 (which is our highest here) and (i think...) they can run higer compression engines there as oppsed to the US, thats why japanese engines have a lil more horsepower
