I have 2004 Honda Accord with 61000 miles and my mechanic tells me that the right axle sharft is loppy and the differential seal is leaking. $3000 to fix. He also recommended I bring it to the dealer becuse it may be under warranty. I hear this is a common problem with Hondas.

Questions:

Will this be covered under warranty?
Is there a recall for this?
Is this common in Honda's
Should I expect the dealer to push back

 

i know they are haveing recall on tranny but not sure on your year though. i know my 01 accord was leaking from differential and it mess up the tranny but lucky it was a recall dealer fix it and warrranty it for 36000 miles

 

holy cow 3g's to fix, id take it to the dealership and get a second opinion

 

Leaking seal is a sign of bad diff bearings. Follow the rec. and take to a dealership for further diag.
