Default ek jdm side marker wiring (not right)

99 civic coupe. putting passwordjdm side markers in. it already has cheap crappy ebay ones from the previous owner. it has a black and white wire hooked up to it. i thought it was suppose to be the red and green for jspec? im pretty sure its set up for jspec because they are constantly on and are used as turn signal as well.

would it be easier to just take the 2 front fenders off and take a look at it?

im pretty sure the first owner who did everything to the car did NOT know anything about wiring and screwed up a lot of stuff. ex. there is a random harness not hooked up to anything towards the right upper corner of engine bay. how can i tell the wiring is trustworthy and not going to like blow up my new sidemarkers?

thanks ahead of time

Did you look behind the turn signal area to see where the wires are tapped? You might need to remove the headlights to see them.

But the correct way to wire them is turn signals only. They should NOT come on constant (if you really want them technically correct).

thanks that helps out a lot more than some of the other write up, i would have never though to use cardboard to practice on. im going to be using a metal nibbler small hand tool do you think it would be easier to take off the fender and cut? that way i can move it around to cut if i need to and that way i can get to the wiring?

also, im looking for the for the jdm spec wiring so red and green

Man you are just making it longer if you take off the fender, just be careful when cutting.

yea i know, that's where i got the idea. i've been searching like crazy to find info/techniques and everything i possibly could read up on so i dont screw up my fenders. i printed the template out and practicd on cardboard and i tried to fit the marker in the hole. WAY too small. im going to a local body shop to see how much they would charge me, and if its outrageous then im just going to go for it and try it myself!
