need an exhaust resonator to pass cali smog???????
alright well i am gettin a custom 2 1/4" exhaust built for my hatch tomorrow and i was just curious: do i need the resonator on there or can i just leave it off so it dont create a bottle neck in a sense cause the new tubing is bigger? I have to get it smogged really soon like sometime this week so i was wondering if i need the resonator or not to pass smog????
Please guys/girls i need this answer asap....just a simple yes or no..

No. Resonators are just for sound dampening. They resonate exhaust gases coming out. But make sure you have a good cat if ur smogging. Good luck
