Wheel Hop when Launching?
Hey, recently I've been going to the track and running on my Kumho Ecstas. Well it seems the track I go to is pretty sticky. Anyways, I've been getting a lot of wheel hop, crazy wheel hop actually. It feels soo damaging to the tranny and I want to avoid getting the best of it. Anyways, if I get wheel hop, would it be better suggested to launch higher or lower than that of where I get wheel hop at?

these people hit it on the head just get a built up rear suspension ive even heard of someone around here trying to get rid of the rear suspension like raising the rear of the car putting more force on the front then taking some strips of metal and welding it up?? i dunno how that would work performance wise but ill post again when i find out
well... taking out the rear would help, but not as much as taking out the front... MMR usa makes a kit to eliminate front suspension travel
im putting em in this weekend, i got the z10's , ez motor mount bushings , and a great deal on skunk 2 coilovers(125 shipped
) . . . my wheel hop will hopfeully not exist anymore.

Slipping isn't as consistant as dropping and I also have a ACT 6-Puck so slipping is kind of out. I'll consider the z10s once I find a price for them. Still, can someone help me answer my question on if wheel hop suggest a higher launch RPM?
i got mine form B18BTURBO, viren for 356 shipped.
you can try higher rpm , but its not garunteed? what are you launching at? . . . i forgot your on street tires. . i wouldnt go any higher than like 4500 and drop it . i ran st tires one time and hit 2.2's all day and was the 1st time this was was raced , and no wheel hop .
see if that works. if not go with the motor mount inserts and then the z10 if those dont work . if noth then then do the susp up more. . . . . gotta pay to play man .

it'll slam your mounts up too, stripped out my motor mount bolts into my block because of bad wheelhop, i say if the car is doing it, then DONT LAUNCH IT until you fix it.
the Radius arms and motor moutn inserts did not help my hop i went to the track the other day and was hopping all over the place i even snapped an axle it was hopping so bad.
Im getting better from shocks and ditching the mounts and arms

Try taking out some tire pressure. Might help reduce the shock.
Launching at higher RPMs and blazin tires out the hole will help, but your times might be shitty.

Z10 radius arms only work as a band aid for wheel hop. I think u need some good shocks in there first. good tires, good shocks, u already have good springs. after that, radius arms.
lower tire pressure. dont buy Z10 bars, they may work but ****, money could b better spent elsewhere. and y in the hell do u have a 6 puck clutch. god ppl go overkill on their clutches and they wonder y their trannies dont last. shock load my friend shock load, its ur enemy. get a different clutch that suits the needs of the setup u have not overkill.
