Default What's the best set up for a great handling CRX?

I'm not an expert on this stuff so i ask you guys, what is the best set up for a great handling CRX?

Here's what i think based on my limited knowledge. Let me know if i'm wrong.

*performance springs (i heard .75 -1.75 is the best for performance)
*performance shocks
*polyurethane bushings
*upper strut bars front/back
*sway bar in the rear because it's a FF and you want to tighten up the rear.
*lightweight rims

And what about tire size and width? That's crucial right?
Am i missing anything else?

I'm pretty sure bigger rims will give you the best turning handling because it gets rid of sidewall length. Smaller wheel= more acceleration, bigger wheel=more top speed. It also wouldn't hurt to sway bar both front and rear. I have no idea what you should do with springs.

Don't you think upgrading to urethane bushings would be helpful?

<-- ksport coilovers with 12K springs up front and 10K rear. a little bouncey for street use but lets just say i get hardly any squat.15X7" maxim screech. light and wide. wrapped in 195/50/15 yokohama avses100s. super sticky dry tire. went with 195 cause i had rubbing issues with the 205.

strut bars are ok as long as you get a 1piece design like cusco or passwordjdm for example.

the ST rear sway bar (22mm I think) is said to make a world of a difference in handling. Might want to look into that.

But even if i do everything mentioned, it's still nothing close to a 4WD right? I mean there is only so much handling a FF car can handle because of its limitations right?

as long as the tires, suspension are tuned right for your power application and driving skill is high then understeer is obsolite

they don't last if your dd but there great tires for autocross i have 2 set of wheels dd and autocross. i autocross once a month and the night before an event i put the falkens on. they will last a long time if you only use them once a month. you should get an extra set of wheel for autocross. the bridgestone potenza re-01r is a better tire if you got the extra cash

There's alot of options. I personally like having alot more spring in the rear then OTS spring rates, I'm putting 7 x 2.5 inch Eibachs on my progress type II coilovers in the coming spring along with an Si rear sway with something in the region of 500F / 700R for occasional HPDE and Auto-x use. I don't believe you need as much sway as some of those bars give you, but it also has alot to do with what your comfortable with as well. It seems like alot of the fast FWD cars run a tad softer spring in the front then in the rear rather then over bar the car so it is not compliant and would rather stay stiff then put the tire to the ground.

But more so then parts, alignment angles have a huge part in dictating how your car reacts from your input. Camber should be a healthy bit negative in the front and slight negative in the rear. Toe-out is an alignment angle that can help understeer as well when applied correctly for the track and vehicle. Research alot in the road racing forum, and theres also innumerable books on the subject, my favorite is called Chassis Engineering, alot of valuable information in there that can be applied to our cars.
