leaking trans oil
So I have had my car for about a year now it is a 1990 hatchback si. It is leaking oil from the passenger side around the axle. I thought it was the oil seal so I replaced it and the axle to but it is still leaking pretty good. So I would apprectate and feed back on any what I could do to fix the problem. Thanks
About that, I have a DOHC ZC motor with matching trany, and i have the same problem. I have already tried tightening the case, but its as tight as it goes. It seems that the Oil is coming out right from the axles, but I'm not to sure. How much would a shop charge to fix this problem? If it is just the seals, that is...
Thanks for any info in advance, I'm just a newbie to Honda's...

I had the same problem.
1) A very popular company that stocks shops and even dealerships sells an axle seal that has the wrong inner diameter, you want to make sure the seal fits around the axle snug. If I remember the numbers right, the correct one has an ID of 35mm while the wrong one is 40mm. That was my first problem.
2) After fixing that, it was still leaking. I put it up on the lift and had my coworker give it some load, or kind of "drive" it. Under load, the diff would move sideways, pulling the diff, and both axles left. It was enough to where the axle would slide out far enough to not be against the seal. I'm guessing the thrust washers are super won. Solution: either a rebuild or another tranny. I went with the latter and it's been fine since.

I had a similar issue with your #2. My was the diff blew up prior to my ownership of the tranny. Axles wouldn't go in all the way (about 1/8" off) and they would leak badly on both sides.
