Racing crank pulley...
Are you guys using them? If so (or not) what are your opinions; good/bad? I have heard some people saying that it can throw off your engine harmonics (or something like that), but some people still get them. What are you opinions on them? I wasn't sure if it is something I want to get into or not, but I think the real-time racing type-r has one.
I hate to be the one to tell you this but you need to do a search.
This topic has been covered in depth, and unfortunately I think it may just make your decision more difficult.
I know SGT uses them with no problems (on a balanced/blueprinted motor) and then I know people that have used them and hammered their motor.
My opinion is to stay away from the under drive crank pulley. (A lightened pulley is fine as long as it retains the harmonic balancer portion) A safe bet would be to use the under drive/lightened power steering/ac pulley on a factory unblueprinted motor.
I think the consensus is if the motor has been rebuilt and internally balanced to the nth degree then you should be ok, on a factory unblueprinted motor… may be risky.

OK I think but I'm not definite that I lost my last motor due to my pulley.
BUT previous to that I ran with an underdrive pulley for a few years with no problems so i'm not sure. It helps if you balance your motor with the pulley for sure.
Here's something that I came across a year ago or so.. The AEBS orange Civic that Roger Sanco used to race (240 to the wheels , spun up to 10000 or so) used the heaviest pulley honda makes, the B18b.
You don't want something getting out of balance at high rpms trust me, you'll be sorry.

I'm trying to see who runs AEM pulleys here, but I got no responses, I just wanted to see if you can get the same gains but without sacrificing a balancing problem.
