Default best oil filter under $20?

switching to Royal Purple oil, approved for 12,000 miles but ill change at 6,000 just cuz i can. I dont want to buy this oil and put in a crappy filter though. I know to stay away from FRAM. Anyone know anything about that Purolater micro(something like that, i know its blue), Mobil 1, K&n Oil filter?i dont want to fork out too much for a filter though, i prefer something i can pick up at pep boys/wal-mart/etc.

thanks

(btw i did search under oil filter but it all lead me to brands like hamp, etc.)

I use Royal Purple and Mobil 1 oil filter. I like the combination. When I use to work at Autozone, everyone that bought an oil filter never really like FRAM either. Can't remember why... most people only bought it if they were doing an oil change on someone else's car. I've been told by a mechanic that the K&N filter isn't really all that great either. I think it is made by Purolator or Fram or some kind of combination of the three. I still change my oil every 3,000 miles though. I push my baby

u use 5w-30 or 10w-30? i was thinking of 10w-30 since I'm in Puerto Rico and its never below 70 and on any given day the temperature is up in the 95+ range. Im in between mobil one or the pureone(or purolater) micro something (the blue one)

sorry, but i think ur all over estimating the necessity of using an expensive or "high-end filters." I really don't think it makes that big of a difference lol.

cuz the Honda shops here are dicks, they sell parts like if they were made of gold. example: $210 for top left motor mount, 450 for stock clutch, $15 for each wiper blade...etc.

I would recommend Hamp. or just use an OEM S2k oil filter. the thread pitch is the same so u won't have to worry about fitment, yet get good filtration simultaneously.

As long as I can remember the USDM oil filters are not that great as you would think. In Japan they have better ones. And it's true Fram sucks.

There used to be another review where JDM oem filter with STP and Mobil 1 came out like winners.

I usually use FRAM because that's what's available when i go to the store, MOBIL 1 full synthetic.....

but now that i think about it i am on my 4th motor.....

jk, none of those motors are gone due to the filter. I don't think it makes a difference at all to be honest with you. The oil is the important thing...MOBIL 1 is the shiz.
