what is an r titled rsx worth?
I found a 02 RSX Type S for sale. It has 38000 miles on it but it was rebuilt and has an R title after being hit on the drivers side. I checked it out today and every thing seems fine mechanicaly. Its a little beat up as far as cosmetics but the guy is selling it for $10,000. I feel like its to good of a price to pass up but wanted to see what others thought.
I ran into that too, with a rsx that i was looking at. it was a salvaged title and he wanted 10500. for it. it was in good shape but the prob with this is that... if your looking at getting a loan most any bank wont give you one if its a salvaged. and two if your looking at insurance your looking a most insurance companies not insuring you! I did alot of research about it and its not worth it. Look for a better RSX for a decent amount. you get what you pay for!!! always!
My buddy just bought an EM1 that was totaled by insurance and he got the same steal. He has had no problems out of it but he also checked the car over thoroughly before he purchased. This is my only suggestion. Just make sure that the paint matches and all the parts are new and not bondoed and fiberglassed over! Other than that you should be pretty good. Maybe you should use that as a negotiating tool! Good Luck!
i think you mean salvaged title, i have never heard of R title. actually that's to much for that car for the simple fact as it has a salvaged title. Whenever a car has a salvaged title the price of that car is no longer going to be that price. Cut it down to about half and you get the price of what it really is worth maybe even lesser then half. A bank wouldn't even let you take out a loan for that car because it doesn't have a clean title value it used to, it's worthless. He can only get 10k on the streets for it.

i don care what the report says, never by a dirty title car..ive been screwed so many times.
at the same time. not all clean title cars are legit either.. ive been screwed both ways.
just make sure u know what your looking at. check the right things, if unsure have a mechanic A REAL MECHANIC look at it.

If the car is in good shape, the seller should have no problem letting you take it to a mechanic to get it checked out. If everything looks good, I'd offer him a little lower than what he's asking for.

You can find any noticable decects your self. (if you're at least a decent do-it-yourselfer.) A mech wont find anything not noticeable by you without tearing into the car.

yeah $5000 02 Base RSX Rebuilt title, the body is in clean shape, but i did have to put like a $1000 in to the engine, whole bunch of **** where bad from the hit, but now its running fine only has 63000 miles cant complain, i would post some pics if i knew how on this page.......
An 02 RSX Types S with a clean title is only worth 12,500 to 13,000. A Rebuilt title witch is what your talking about is worth no more than 5-6k at the max. Trust me I sell cars for living. I just sold my brother this exact car with a clean title for 12,500. Any other questions let us know.
