Default sad story

I cant believe what happened to me today.
My brand new 2007 yamaha R1 got stolen from SDSU today. this bike was less than 3 weeks old, had 300 miles on it, and its gone.
I had the steering wheel locked, back wheel chained to a pole (with a one inch cable), and a disc lock, and these ******* still got it.

this is just the latest theft however, not the only. this bike was the replacement for my 2004 cbr 1000rr that was stolen on October 2, 2007 not even a month ago.

This same 2004 cbr 1000rr was also previously stolen on January 30, 2007, but was recovered after this first theft.

My ITR was also stolen a couple months ago, but i got that back.

Needless to say I am having a shitty year. I really hope my insurance company doesn't drop me.

worst part about it is i was just about to get lojack, just didn't have enough money yet. time to start selling all my **** because the next bike needs to have something.

theft at SDSU is out of control

Sorry to hear, especially in light of all the fires in the region

Not a good time to be from SD =X

Insurance will take care of you though right? (to the extent that insurance ever really does)

thanks
yeah tell me about it. i would give anything to catch them in the act, even if means going to jail.
i have enough stress at school without this. im really worried about insurance, but i guess time will tell.

I was already planning to sell my turbo kit, i think im going to sell the ITR as well. I can't stand always being worried about leaving either the bike or the car anywhere. they were the few things i enjoyed in life, but not anymore. this is just ruining it for me. I bet it is the same ******* too, and all these *****'s walked past and never said anything

Stakeout? Film them, or something, if you can get proof without getting too involved you can get them behind bars.

in addition to the disc lock, yeah a steel cable brinks lock that was one inch thick. i thought it would be good enough, but apparently i was wrong. I can just picture those ******** right now probably stripping my bike drinking beers celebrating with their friends on the new bike they got. I hope their families die.

yeah that was mine. the school needs to put cameras in. im going to write to the dean. maybe i should call the turko files or something. i mean i had to pay to park there it should be safe.

i guess life goes on, but im beside myself. just 3 days ago i pulled all the fairings off, and replaced the tail light, installed frame sliders, installed fender eliminator kit, and changed the oil. what a waste of time

I know how you feel. going out to where you know you parked it and seeing it missing is the worst feeling in the world.

Jesus. Sorry to hear about your misfortune man, sounds like we need to set up a "to catch a predator" except instead of pedophiles its thieves and instead of getting lectured by the Hansen then arrested its good ol fashioned beat down. With sticks. And Rocks.

yeah thanks.
i would love set up a sting, but i just don't have the time to do it.

i thought about buying a beater, but i don't want someone else's problems, and i really loved that bike, i would hate to down grade.

im probably just going to make sure i have enough money to pay for the bike, and lojack at the same time.

does anyone know a good shop i can have lojack installed? what is a good price for it?
the dealer at the time i purchased the bike said $900
