LOUD, ANNOYING SCRAPE sound from tranny. ABOVE 4 mph. and every 3-4 seconds constantly. HELP
one day i CHANGE radiators, AND transmission oil. tranny was grinding, radiator leaking.
after i thought i was done, test drove it...
after i take the car ABOVE 5 mph, i hear the noise. so i take it up to 40 mph, and put it on neutral. the noise comes up every 4 seconds..constantly....and is about 4 seconds long as well... and it doesnt stop...even is i put it in neutral...1st-5th...its still there...i turned off the car while it was in the middle of that noise while i was coasting at 30 mph, and it stopped. everything else seems fine...it pulls, change gears smooth, etc.
so, the noise is there as long as the car is ON, and going over 5 mph. and its friggin annoying and embarrassing, loud.
any ideas what it is?
BEFORE i changed tranny's
i jacked up the car, and put it in first, one of the wheels doesnt spin as fast as the other one...
AFter i changed tranny, both spin fine, but noise still there.
help
ps: the noise sounds like a dam bird...or like a woodpecker.. some kind of dam animal

Jack the car up, look underneath of it and see if u can figure out what it is, move the wheels and carefully try putting it in gear on jack stands to recreate the problem.
yea i did that already. i recreated the situation on jacks. put it in first, and went up to 5mph. the noise is there. sounds like its coming from the tranny. but its NEW. and the noise was there with the OLD tranny. clutch looks fine/works fine.
usually bad throughout bearing...did u use the one from your original tranny either that or bad input shaft bearings....
are you using the clutch from the S1 b16 tranny in the S1 B18 tranny? I ask because I know most people know b-series parts are interchangeable but you can't use the same clutch in different transmissions. Maybe that's the problem?
Btw, if ever you feel like I screwed you over feel free to bring the tranny back and I'll buy it back from you.

dont worry. ur tranny is perfect. it turns out the noise was from the modulator or whatever its called....from the abs system. they are known to go bad. so i just disabled abs. oh, and i guess u are wrong about the clutch? cuz the clutch i have works with my b16 ls and stock tranny you sold me... maybe somebody modded the tranny i had? not sure...but it had high gear ratios and was fun to drive. thanks for the tranny dude.
