i saw this once before and now cannot find it..... i saw somewhere that showed how to change the dash from green to blue by putting new film on it. however, i cannot find it and have tried searching for a while now. any one know where i can find it?
you can get light socks that just slip over the bulb. ive seen em on a few major sites.
i think http://www.andysautosport.com has them...not for sure though. I know they exist...if all else fails. hit ebay up.

yeah i have seen those before but i saw one where you actually put a celophane like material behind the gauges and all to get it that blue color
im sure there's something where you could put some type of film behind the gauges. but i think doing so would be much harder. you also run the risk of ruining your entire cluster.
As far as I know, everyone that has changed the color of their gauges has done so with film as charles1 was talking about..
If it was able to be done by just changing the lights, I would think it would be easier and that's the way people would be doing it..
I haven't taken my gauges apart, but I've seen a set that had been taken apart at a local junk yard and I don't remember seeing any lights or leds in there....

ya know, my friend actually took his bulbs out (there really small wedge style bulbs) and taped off the connection side and spray painted them blue, he had to use 2 thin coats but it worked pretty good, its a cheap and easy way to convert a bulb color, and im pretty sure he used a hi-temp paint

yeah i found a website.....cant remember what it was.... but you could buy colored led's to replace the factory bulbs. they were about 2 bucks a piece. but as for the gas gauge and clock, i am thinking that i am going to have to use the celophane idea.
Yea, I'm pretty sure the EL Gauges do not have bulds so it's not possible to paint or replace the bulbs..
You can replace the bulbs in the switchs and in the climate control.

I figured the film would be my only choice. I got the EL ones. Any way theres a write up here: http://socalprelude.com/viewtopic.php?t=17085 on how to do the 2 dollar led strip method I'd assume you could apply the same trick to any non EL cluster.

ya for the bloe gas/temp light, go to party city and et some purple tint and put it over them. the blue tint makes it look more of a blue green color.
purple makes em look blue. i used one layer because more layers kinda made it fuzzy
o ya they look fuzzy in that one because bad camera lol

Here ya go guys: http://www.rosco.com/us/filter...olors
What you guys are looking for are called "gels". They are used for changing the light spectrum. Roscolux is the premiere gel company with thousands of options.
Also, there are wedge bulb replacements with built in resistors if you want to take it to another level and not see any film during the daytime. I don't have my helms in front of me so I couldn't tell you the bulb number, but I know you can swap out these bulbs.
Hope some of this helps you guys....
