I want to buy a wingswest RS front lip for my honda civic hatchback but I do not want someone to just yank it off in the middle of the night. I was planning on using bolts, nuts and washers to fasten it on so that it becomes difficult. I know that there is hardware included but I just want to make it a little harder for criminals. Anyone have any problems with someone trying or succeeding to stealing your front lip??

 

thieves will take anything they want off your car, just put it on..dont use that stupid *** sticker tape crap they give u.. i used 5 body screws instead. 3 along the bottom..2 on the sides..like an oem lip would have. put some nuts on the back of the screws and call it a day.

 

Do what I did....USE the double-stick tape AND several body screws. The tape is there for a reason and it's stickier than you would think. Why WOULDN'T you use it? The more to help keep the lip on your car the better.

 

*in my opinion/taste* its not needed..oem lips dont need it so i feel that doesnt either..what if i wanna take it off, i dont want that residue everywhere.

yeah people do steal the lip thats why i molded it on to my bumper.

 

For some odd reason you are very anti-sticky tape...No one will ever know why. I used the tape plus a few screws...But like he said, if they want it, they can take it. I'm not to worried though, people like to steal from me I almost expect it.

 

hell, if there taking red "H" emblems on people cars, there gonna take anything they can get thier hands on.

 

I took my car to a body shop and they used a rivet gun to secure my lip.

 

why does the word *theives* always come up?..i hate them to pieces ..they ll find a way to steal anything..atleast make the lips useless to them if they get it off..use locking screws..and if uve got some guts..drill some well place d holes in the lip..that if they try to rip the lip off..it ll break off !! *damn theives*
