Default smogging a b18c

k heres the thing, i might be buying a 96 integra with a 2000 jdm gsr b18c. i know the guy i go to will pass the visual on my car, but will this motor pass the emitions? ive heard that a JDM motor will not pass the emitions part of smog here in the US because of different regulations in Japan. so if anyone has smogged this motor or knows the answer please let me know i need to know asap.

thank you

I passed emission and a visual (LOL) with 89 ef dx with a b16a. I guess the guy didn't care or was new...I just paid about $40 bucks and it was done. I did have to retest after a tuneup..but it passed.

Only difference i believe between the usdm and jdm gsr is the compression. I actually got a gsr block with 11:1 CR and i passed smog but failed visual at the state ref. So i think you'll be okay as long as your cat and other sensors are in operating order.
