1996 prelude troubles.
I just purchased a honda prelude 1996.
I had a pre-purchase inspection done, and the engine checked out 160 compression across the boards, everything held really strong etc.
I needed to replace the tie rods, and uper control arms and do an alignment, other then that there was nothing needed.
Now, when I drive there is a rattling in the engine, more like a quick banging like when you go prrrrrr and role your toungue.
Even stranger, whenever I engage the clutch the rattling is louder and I feel the rattling in the clutch pedal aswell
what could this be? could it be the transmission, if so why would they not have picked it up in the inspection.
What should I do?
BTW its a JDM H23 engine aftermarket with a new transmission aswell.
Though the fellow I bought it from whom purchased it from teh individual who swapped everything drove the vehicle like snot....

That sounds like the throw out bearing if it gets louder when you hit the clutch. Do you know if it was a stock replacement clutch, or an aftermarket? If it's a twin plate clutch, it will do that. Hope this helps.
How much does it cost to replace throw out bearings?
I think its a replaced clutch aswell, I'm not sure if it's stock or aftermarket.
Either way its very strange.
