As the title says, i'm interested in knowing what kinda power it's going to take for me to make a high 10sec. pass in a full interior EG Coupe.

what does it weigh, can you drive, what kind of tire, suspension..

Depending on weight you can get in the tens with 4-450. I am guessing the car weighs around 24-2700. right around 500 should do it if the car is setup right

I'm no professional driver by any means, but i'd say i'm one of the better locals.

Basicly i've got a pile of parts that i've been gathering that i'm going to be getting ready for next season. Obviously i don't have all the details yet because thats what i'm workin on now but heres the rough idea.

I've got a Dart Block, & a GSR Vtec head thats been port & polished with all titanium internals, dual valve springs ect.

I'm also kinda curious if i can make it to my goal with my existing turbo (t3/t4 .60/.63) ?? thoughts on this?

Current Suspension:
Tokio 5-way adjustable struts
Skunk2 coil overs
noname strut bars
lakewood traction bars
rear sway bar
hasport mounts

Driving, Power/Weight Ratio, Traction. Lots of combinations of things. You can get away with 10's with lots of power, lightweight and spinning down the run way. You can also have good traction, moderate hp good driving etc etc.

take if from me... it really takes the right suspension to get 10s...

I had the power this year, but couldnt put it down to the ground... I didnt have LSD and I had 24.5 slicks... this year im building a better tranny with a quaife LSD and a nice set of coils to stop me from spinnin

You should make it in to the 10s with around 460whp if your trapping 125+ thats good for 10's just learn to use the slicks and it will come!

yea, i had a serious traction problem last year! thus the reason i upgraded my tranny with an obx LSD & added the traction bars. I already had my struts & springs from doing some prior auto x stuff.

Any idea how much pressure i can run on that .60/.63 b4 it will begin to heat soak?

Christ, you ever try slipping the clutch heavily. I was cutting 2.0 60' consistantly on 17in drag radials coming off a 5,600RPM 2-step. I was trapping right around 113-115. Hondas from my expierence do not really like to be "dump'd" right out of the hole, thats why pre-loading or slipping the clutch seems to work so well. Atlest for me

2.2 on a 24.5in slick is really really bad, no offence or anything but there is something majorly wrong there. Tire pressure is an extremly important thing to consider as well as track temps. A smaller tire isnt always a bad thing also.

i dont know how much psi u can run before it get too hot that all depends on how efficient your ic setup is.. just let your tuner figure that out.. he will see the iats raise to a unsafe level and back the boost down a bit

your tracks down there are alot better kept and have alot more traction then we do up here... for one...

and in regards to my 2.2/2.3 60 foots, I got them down to 1.8 which was what the record around here for a FWD was cutting when he ran his 10.94

for example.. a local tuner was runnin 11.0 @ 139mph
he could not crack into the 10s this year.. although hes got the power to do it, and the slicks/suspension to do it, the tracks simply do not cut it

I agree. on my 24.5's I was just dumping and still doin 1.6 60fts to bad the heat in the clutch made it slip up top for me. suspension is the key to good 60fts. I went from running mid 11's on stock ITR suspension to running 11.0's with my drag suspension set up

Details on your "drag" suspension setup?

Thank you for that information, i was unaware of this.

I might have to do a little more research on this & possibly swap intercoolers.

it was a difference from 2.25 ic pipeing and a jrc 8" 362whp @20 psi
to 3" ic pipeing and a precision 650hp it made 480whp@20psi

it was quite a big diff
