Default Brake light on guage instrument light is always on... what the?

so my light is on even when the E brake is down. Does the prelude have some brake sensor that tells you to do your brakes?

thanks

My car has a seperate light that says brake bulb for the light being out, the brake light staying on would indicate low fluid in the master cylinder afaik.

Nooo e-brake trigger works perfectly fine. I know for sure. Because the brake light will go off and on when I tap on the brakes. On the days that the light is off, I can test for ebrake. and the lights will come on if i lift it, and it will go off when i release it.

but when i tap on the brakes that light comes on. i chcecked out brakes out and they are pretty down to the metal.

ill just get some power slot rotors, replace the brakelines to steel braided and get some hawk brake pads.

the only thing i want to know is... is there a brake sensor? does the car tell you when the brakes need to be changed? because my brake light in on and I need to do replace my brakes. just wanted to know if its a coincidence or not.

Snobordboi had it right dude, your brake fluid is low, which is causing that light.

When you do the brakes, flush the system out some and bleed it with new fluid.

No, there is no sensor that tells you your pads are worn out (other than your ears and possibly eyes).

steel braided brakelines should help too right?

you won't notice a huge difference with stainless brake lines unless you track your car for extended periods of time. not worth the cost IMO.

I'd only buy them if I was replacing clogged lines anyways.
