Help..
Ok so i have a d16y7, but the timing is off and the valves are loose. we did the timing but now it jumped 4 teeth. the problem is that the distrubtor isnt even for the motor and the cam gear isnt even a stock one. so im thinking that it had another motor in before but they swapped it out to sell it. my main question is: is it better to have loose valves on this motor or to do them right? my friend told me that lose ones are better but im no so sure on that.
it would NEVER be better to have loose valves...
to your friend
get the rights parts for the motor and go from there as long as you didnt damage the engine, other than that you are just running blind.

ok well now we found out that the distributor wasnt even for that motor and the ppl before us had retarded it four teeth to make up for the spark. another friend of mine has also told me that distributors on single cams are not different, vtec or not but then another said they are.. so im confused about that too.
we are just going to get a y8 head instead of changing the distributor.
