EF Build Thread, all DIY!
Day0:
Heres how I bought the car (Minus the mirrors and bumper paint)

Day 1: Body/Paint First
Ok, I bought my EF with just under 99k miles, Motor was strong, everything works, interior was clean, body was OK.
First things first, for me, the color red doesn't work.
My car needed some body work and had one really big dent above the rear wheel. It needed to get fixed asap. I came across the 50$ paintjob thread a few months back and laughed. Didn't think id be doing it. Few months later I got the EF and first thing came to my mind was everything was going to be done by me. Built by me for me.
Blah Blah Blah
I went out and bought all thies supplys
2 Quarts Gloss White Paint
1 Quart Mineral Spirits
x2 6" High Denisty Foam Rolls
x2 6" Rollers
2000,1000,800,320,200,180 Grit Sand Paper
1 Can Glass White Spray Paint
Mixing Bucket
Touchup Foam Brushes
(Some Products aren't pictured)

Total : $52.14
Just over $50. Didn't bother me at all, besides I had to drive 30 min to get the mineral spirits since 6 stores by me didn't carry it. Enough Yapping, Onto the build..
Started off using block sanding, taking way too long.
Upgraded to a Electric Rotating Sander
Pics:

Still have more sanding todo, Didnt realise how thick it was on there.
Notes:
If your going to do this, give yourself a good day or two to sand and remove parts that would be in the way
Buy more sand paper then you think you need
Dont do it on a hot day
Day2: More Work on Body/Paint
Today I wokeup early to start working on my car. Today was to put bondo down and fix all the dents in the car. Currently I'm waiting for the bondo to dry, heres some pictures to hold ya'll over.
BTW: I dont like bondo, lol.

Enjoy, should have another update later today, of hopfully first coat of paint!
Day3: Finish Sanding, Final prep before Paint
Wow, after 4 days of non stop rain and misting. It got sunny today
Which sucks' is that the winds were 35+ MPH all day, so no painting on the car yet. I did start on the wheels and the bumper filler piece. Just layed two coats on sprayp paint on the wheels and filler piece. Going to wet sand them tomorrow and start painting the car tomorrow. EJsex stopped by to checkout the progress. Got a
from him. Thanks Dylan. Enjoy the pictures.
The orange in the pictures is spot/glazing puddy.
On to the pictures:
(Dont mind the bondo, there was a long gash on the rear quarter panel, I pulled it out as far as I could and filled it in with bondo.(Theres really not that much on there) I want to DIY everything myself, so I tried my best.)

Wheel preview. (Dont hate on the rattle caned wheels)

Filler Piece

Dents on the top of the fender filled in.

Purchased my suspension today:
KYB AGX struts
Blox LCA's
Omni Coilovers
Enjoy!~

yeah I hope to get my car painted sometime the end of this year. I need to get some 88-89 civic doors for my car and get the seat belts put on the pillar first.
The guy that is painting my car is going to do it piece by piece and do it the way I want it. Its going to be about a $2000 job.

Day4:
Today I wokeup early to get to painting. Did my final sanding with 400 Grit and wipied the whole car down with mineral spirits. Then a quick final dusting on the car and started to mix the paint!
Cracked open a quart of Gloss white and started the mixing. I did a 60% Paint to 40% Mineral Spirits on a 60* low humidity day. When Mixing you want to make sure you DONOT shake the can of paint, just open the top and poor it into a mixing cup. You need to mix the Mineral Spirits and Paint for a good few minutes since they are oil based. Like said before. you want it to be like milky.
Here are a few pictures. I used 6inch rollers, I would suggest to get one roller for every coat. Just so you donot need to clean them. Also use 4inch rollers, not 6inch, seems to be too big. Doesnt roll right.
Paint needs to be rolled on thin! Progress wont showup till the 4th-5th coat I hear.

Wheeeels =]

Starting to shine

looks good. I liked the wheels better black myself, but more power to ya if you like them. The roll on paint jobs looks good if patience is used and a lot of time devoted, but I still would never do it to a car. I did it to the hood of my pulling tractor for ***** and giggles after i first read it and it is a bitch compared to a spray gun, lol. GOOD WORK
