recommended fuel
I just recently picked up a 2000 integra GSR and unfortunately it didnt come with an owners manual so i was wondering what type a fuel is supposed to be run through it? Tried searching but nothing came up for a stock gsr
i filled up today with 93 (we only have 87/89/93) today just to be safe but i guess thats what is required anyway. i wasnt sure if acura said 87/89 is normal but i guess not. thanks

higher octane gas really is 87 octane with a concentrated amount of vtec fluid added in...this benefit only is brought out when driving a honda equipped with valve timing and lift electronic control

Umm... seeing how that's the main difference, I would have to say yes.

The compression ratio and the tuning dictate that premium fuel is needed. Your GSR will run on lower octane, but will have less power. In stock form, the knock sensor provides feedback to the ECU to protect the engine.

I've got an 01 and it says to use premium on the gauge cluster. Didn't realize it until after i filled for the first time with mid-grade after buying it. But yeah, premium.
As dogginator stated, the higher CR of the GSR motor (10.6) is what requires the higher octane gas. It won't harm the engine to run 87 but you won't be maximizing the GSR engines efficiency. You will actually get better gas mileage in your GSR with 93.
