Default Ignition harness overheating problem

Has anyone had this problem: I had a stock 88 rex and the key switch gets really hot and burns out the switch contacts. The wiring also gets hot. I probably have a short somewhere, but where do I start looking? Thanks

check all your ground wires. sounds like one is not connected. there are grounds all along the wiring harness. not a fun thing to look for.

I agree....it sounds like ignition is grounding through the key column.....but the grounds should be in the kick panel near the fuse panel....they don't just stick them ***** nilly....
