the damn poly urethane is too damn hard

It was a pita for me also.
i used a c-clamp to shove them in there
and a big wrench

Use grease, lard, oil, or whatever makes it slippery and jam the bushing in as hard as you can in it. Just make sure the bushing is in the right direction. This is how I did mine.
