Rencent paint job...weakens metal? or weak paint?
So I made a thread before about accorns falling on my hood...there were a couple of dents I got from the accorns before, but now there are about 10-15 tiny dents from them and I am really pissed about it since I keep a car cover on my car and I recently had the front of my car repaired this past summer.
But here is the thing....this past July...I had my hood repainted from my accident and the body shop stripped the hood...fixed the damaged area...primered the whole hood and shot base and clear...I am wondering can the hood metal become weaker from the new paint?...or can the paint have not been cured properly and not harden?...causing the hood to become more prone to dents?
The only reason I ask because last year around this time...my hood never got dented from accorns...and my moms car is parked under the same tree and gets hit all the time and her car has no dents from accorns...
Anybody have an idea?

what kind of car or truck? some of the newer cars and trucks out there have aluminum hoods from the factory, very easy to dent, paint honestly has nothing to do with the composition of the metal, only heat can do that i,e. welding, cutting with torches extreme heat application

My car is a 2000 Civic Si...I'm not sure what material the hood is made of but I'm guessing it's aluminum...My moms car is a 2002 Toyota 4runner. Her hood doesn't seem to get dents from the accorns though

BTW stop parking under the tree! </TD></TR></TABLE>
I have no choice...I leave my car at home since I'm at college right now...I try to protect it with a car cover from bird droppings and tree sap but the cover doesn't protect from dents...And I don't have a garage either
