Default car wont go into gear!!!

i have a 84x89 setup.(84mm ls vtec) with a type r tranny and a 62-1turbo. Today i went to move the car and when the car is on with the clutch pedal pushed to the floor it will not go into gear. Now when the car is off it goes into gear like factory. What could be causing this???

thanks

whats the age on the car?
if it is older, start looking at clutch hydraulics, and if one is bad i would do them both.

what clutch?

Sounds like typical clutch spring has popped out, not allowing full disengagement.

clutchmasters 6 puck sprung clutch with a cc Upgraded PP. I was thinking it was the slave cylinder because when i was driving the clutch peddle(spelling) was on the floor and i had to pump it a few times to get it to come back up. The clutch was bled properly. so thats why i thought it was the slave cylinder.

likely clutch sucked air when bled or the master cylinder crapping out, check he fluid level, if low check the insid eof the firewall for fluid.

fluid level is high. doesnt seem to be leaking. clutch pedal is hard (normal). Im going to try bleeding it today and see if my problem goes away.

rest your foot on the pedal and see if it sinks.

replaced the slave cylinder and bled the system and i still have the same problem. It seems like the fork on the tranny isnt being pushed to the passenger side, by hand i could push it to the drivers side but even with me pressing the clutch the fork wont move to the passengers side.

from what ive been reading on the web people say the problem could be

Slave cylinder
master cylinder
pilot bearing
spring on clutch
throwout bearing
pressure plate
shift fork
broken clutch

im already ruling out the slave cylinder and master cylinder because i checked the master cylinder today and replaced the slave cylinder and bled the line. i also checked the shift fork and nothing looks to be wrong with it.

Seems you checked/replaced the obvious so far.

I would check the pressure plate to see if the "ring" cracked, as well the Throwout bearing.

also if you tampered with the tranny,

I'd check the set screw and washer for the 1/2 shift fork. Reason i say washer is because if the washer is too thin it compresses the ball bearing into the dimple of the shift fork so hard that it won't move. Make sure its torqued properly, overtightening it will compress the washer as well.

just my 2 cents..

Ok well if you had to pump the clutch pedal to get it to come back up then you have air in the system....Air can only get into the system if there was a leak assuming you didnt open the bleeder screw or mess with the clutch system prior to your problem. If you already replaced the clutch slave cylinder then you either have a leak in the line somewhere, you didnt bleed the clutch right, or your master cylinder is on its way out.

have you had someone verify that the fork moves when you press the clutch pedal. If you have the upgraded pressure plate then i think your fork is on the way to just breaking, its probably broken inside the bell housing and when you press the clutch its just bending, those things are stupid hard to press in. Have you messed with the tranny internally?

its your clutch. the spring popped out causing it not to shift when the car is on. change your clutch and you'll be good. i get customer cars like that all the time. goodluck.
