Time estimate on auto tranny swap?
My transmission appears to be dead and I found a decent tranny to throw in there. How difficult of a task is it to pull one out and throw another in there and what's a decent time esimate? Just swapping old auto for new auto?

You don,t say what model and year.I just did a 89 auto to a 86 5 speed that took me almost 10 hours to do.I had a few extra things to do, like swap flywheel and pressure plate.Pulled both motors and trannys, swapped parts and reinstalled.I would say if you know what you are doing 5 or 6 hours should work.

My bad on leaving out the year. It's a 92 LX auto, being replaced with auto from another trashed 92. I've read through all the 5-speed conversion write ups I could find, and figured it would be about half the time that that takes. I just didn't have a ballpark idea at all.

Half the time? Don't bet on it. The fact that you are even asking me tells me you have never done the swap. So figure that it will take at LEAST as long.
