Default Brake Indicator

Okay, so I'm on my way back from college and my brake indicator light comes on. I checked the fluid and its at nearly a perfect level, the pedal doesn't feel any less firm to my knowledge and I'm not hearing any random noises. I'm generally very kind to my brakes and barely use them at all to begin with. I'm just wondering if anybody out there has had a similar experience and can let me know what they did about it or if its that serious, cuz obviously being in college I don't have immediate access to a stealership

If it is your SRS light, then you need to go to the dealer and get an update to your ECU. When I was at the dealer last week they told me about this update.

Good Luck

I know you said you didn't leave the e-brake up, but make sure the handle is all the way down. Once I accidentally brushed my leg against the handle making it go up just a bit, not enough to engage the e-brake, but enough for the brake light to come on.
