Default hopefully EF sedan in the making!!!!!

today, i picked up a 88 civic sedan dx. the exhaust is louder than hell, but i like it. little bit of typical mn rust, but bodies pretty straight. i'll post pics tommorow cuz it was dark b4 i could take any. and only 109k on the odometer. i'm gonna save during the winter for a swap prolly, but anyone got any suggestions for the new honda entusiat on a budget?

Well if you plan on a swap soon don't waste money on the engine you have now.THe only thing you probably should do performance wise now would be to convert to mpfi.Heres the info you'll need for thathttp://www.angelfire.com/d20/h....html.Now interior and exterior would be completely up to the individual.I plan to do si pieces on the inteior(seats, cluster, etc)mainly because I'm not into the ricey aftermarket crap thats affordable and I can't afford the really nice stuff.Exterior wise my taste is simple, stock body with maybe a front lip.A little suspension and some wheels, but my car is just a DD.Now as I said it's purely up to the individual and your taste may be opposite mine, but you said on a budget and most things I mentioned are pretty cheap.Just some thoughts.

Sounds like an exhaust should be up near the top of your list of things to do. Unfortunately, you have a sedan and there are few if any cat-back exhaust systems for your car. However find a shop around your house that does custom mandrel bent exhaust systems. Almost all exhaust shops should be able to do this and they are dime a dozen around where i live. Get a nice resonator, high-flow cat and a nice muffler and have them weld them it up to create your own cat-back. I'd suggest 2 1/2" piping, this will help immensely with your swap as well. That way your neighbors won't slash your tires for sounding like you have a swarm of bees in a coffee can, other Honda guys won't laugh when you drive by, you'll free up a little hp and it's a mod you can keep once you swap.

Also another cheap mod would be to get an EGAY intake or a stock K&N filter. However if you go the EGAY route, you will be throwing away the filter and will only be using the piping. You MUST get a K&N cone filter. I've heard nothing but horror stories about these CC (Cheap Chinese) filters. This includes any "performance" filter that isn't a brand name like HKS, ie APC I've even seen no name intake arms that come with K&N filters already, that is probably you're cheapest route.

Letting your engine breath freely is probably the most noticable cheap hp gain for your car. Once you get parts together for the swap, you should start a build thread. Good luck
