Opinions on My GSR Shopping List?
Hi everyone. I've been doing tons of research over the past year on forced induction, and what it takes to build a high hp honda. I really don't post much but i wanted to get some feedback on my project.
Before anyone says anything i will not be using credit cards on anything! I prefer to pay cash and not get into any more debt aside from my mortgage. Therefore it is going to take me around 2 years to buy everything i need to get the car to where i want it. I know its a slow process, but its something i enjoy doing with my brother and friends.
The goal is to build an integra that is capable of pushing 500whp on 93 octane. This is not my only car, as i have a stock integra special edition for daily driver duties. I would, however like to be able to drive the boosted GSR whenever i feel like it. so i'm thinking of a conservative tune around 350whp. that way i can turn up the boost or switch the tune over for big hp when we take it to the track.
I've compiled an excel spreadsheet of parts and plan to buy them in a fashion which makes sense to me. ie head work/parts, block work/parts. turbo components etc
the car is a 4 door 1995 Integra GSR (OBD1) which has 156k on it and runs beautifully. i've had it just over a year and the only real modifications it has are the Omni 12k front Coilovers, Omni 10K rear coilovers, Omni LCA's and front rear camber kit. along with an apexi ws2 exhaust and an SRI
the apexi, and SRI will make their way onto the special edition so i'm not upset that i bought it.
its a fun car and serves me well but now its time to play with the big boys in the FI forum.
Can you guys give me an opion on the shopping list and maybe add anything i may have missed? I have tried not to include brand names as much as possible because i do not want this thread to become brand x is better than brand y argument.
with out further ado here is the list:
Gt35 turbine
Ram Horn exhaust manifold
3"downpipe
3" exhaust
Hondata s300/Crome/Neptune etc
Blox or Skunk 2 IM
FMIC
IC Piping
Fuel Rail
FPR
750 cc or lager Injectors
Moroso Oil Pan
Oil lines/feeds/taps
High flow fuel pump
NGK 2 step colder plugs
plug wires
cap/rotor
Bore block to 84mm
machined head/valve job etc
Forged 8.5-1 or 9-1 compression pistons
Sleeved Block
ARP Bolts/studs
ITR Cams
Titanium valve springs and retainers
Stainless steel valves
Cam Gears
ITR Crank
Forged Connecting rods
Traction Bar
EGT Gauge
Boost Gauge
Wideband o2 sensor
oil pressure gauge
water temp gauge
Bov
Vacum Manifold
Main bearings
headgasket
3 bar map sensor
new motor and tranny mounts
ITR or Quafe LSD
Clutch and lightened flywheel
I'm sure i'm missing some misc stuff. so any help would be apreciated. If i'm correct i should be able to push close to 500whp on a tune.
Thanks in advance!

ngk bkr7e plugs will work excellent
just keep the stock gsr crank no need to get an ITR crank.
i dont think you will have a problem with stock ignition to include plugs wires, cap and rotor.
i would use a victor x intake manifold for your project.
880cc injectors will do the trick
the stock main bolts will do fine
looks like you have a good project ahead of you with quality parts. good luck

Is there any reason why the Edelbrock intake manifold should be used instead of the Skunk2/Blox intake manifold? because im also going to be turboing my DB7 and im starting to get a list of parts together and I was planning on using the Skunk2 IM... and to the OP who will be doing the machine work on your motor and head? because I noticed your also in MA and I dont know anyone around here that does machine work and I was planing on sending my block and head out to get worked on... that is, if your getting someone local to do the work...

Sounds like a rather large, costly, time consuming project....
Btw, also It looks like you're 20 years old, just like all the rest of us

Well I dont plan on rebuilding the motor right away... im hoping with a conservative tune I can get about 300WHP out of my LS for now... Im working with a budget around 8k so I cant afford to rebuild just yet.... I wont be using the same turbo either... I think im just gonna end up buying a Full Race turbo kit that uses a t3/60-1 turbo... Ill be happy if I have a fully built LS Turbo putting down 500+ WHP... hopefully.

Actually i'm 28. and you are right it is going to be pretty damn expensive and time consuming. but its fun and thats what is important.
94 IntegraLS as far as machine work there are a lot of reputable shops in MA and NH just do your homework.
