OK so I just bought this 88 crx si a couple of months ago. I love that car so much. well it had a little rust on it so I bought patch panels and took it to a body shop. After they tore it down they told me that it would be twice as much as I was originally quoted because the rockers are gone. So then they called me today and said they dont even want to do it.
So I have a crx with a great motor, great interior, complete with all trip, pretty paint job, that is not safe to drive.
What should I do? I mean, the car looks perfect except for the rust.
I have 500 bucks to spend on a shell, if anyone knows where I could get one.
This is a sad day....

Just fyi, the cold is not the bad part of the winter, its the water and salt. also a heated garage is actualy bad for preventing rust, because the oxidation process increases with temerature.
and as far as finding a shell, take your time and you will find something with a blown motor or some other major problem. but be wary of cheap shells, cause you could end up with another rusted shell. try to get somebodys junked car, instead of somebodys hacked up project car.
also how bad is the rust? and have you asked any other shops if they can repair it?

Why not say FU to the shop, and do it yourself? Then come back and show then how much they suck
