Default TPMS and changing wheels

I'm about to go buy a set of 04 rsx wheels for my 08 sedan and I just remembered as we all know the new 08's have the TPMS do i have to go to a shop and get it the valve stems switched over? or can i just bolt on the new rims and be ok will and problems come up? and just not have the tpms work or will not having them on the new rims cause a light to go off.
I search and only found info for the fit not sure it's all the same.

I read on the fit forum that the signals only go one way so if there is no tpms thing int he tire it just wont read anything. does the same apply to the civic as well?

how have you guys who use after market wheels handle this?
