Default lowering question for eg hatch

i have a 95 si hatch and after i put my rims on 205/40/17 tires im not too happy with how high it is off the ground. i have about a four finger gap so i was wondering how much you would recommend lowering it if i want to close up that gap but dont want any rubbing. any help would be appreciated

I don't know...

but what i do know is: if you get a coilover or a slipover setup... then you have the ability to raise the car if it does rub..

if anything.. you will just end up either at a higher ride height.. till you roll your fenders..

Because as the suspension compresses, the negative camber increases... if the tire is too wide.. is when you run into problems...

im pretty sure they were rolled already before i bought the car because it was really low before but on cut springs so i put stock struts under it for now and then i bought my wheels and i think it would look good with like a 2 inch drop but im concerned with rubbing

as long as the offset is correct on the rims, and your fenders are rolled, a 2" drop is fine on an EG.

along with what relic said you could also go with smaller wheels for clearance.
